Wedding Venue Review: Cellar 52

November 1st, 2024

St.Jacobs, Ontario has a lot going for it. A renowned Farmer’s Market, a picturesque downtown, a river trail that basically demands a picnic… but they also have Cellar 52, a lovely little wedding venue by The Stella Collective. I was second shooting that day, which always leaves a little extra time and mental capacity to explore and soak in the whole day. I am really, really glad I did.

I am going to keep this short and sweet, because I assume if you are reading this, you are considering getting married at Cellar 52 or another one of the Stella Collective venues. Here’s the need to know from my experience!

The Venue is very pretty. The getting-ready spaces are well-lit, simple and beautiful for photos. They overlook the main street and it just feels like something out of a movie. I love it. There’s plenty of beautiful little pockets within the venue for photos, as well as spaces to create memorable moments for guests. There is an indoor and outdoor bar, with a beautiful, intimate patio space for cocktail hour, which you’re definitely going to want to join in on.

The food… okay so the food here is a shining star. Stella Collective also happens to run Gilt Catering Co. which has reliably put out some of my favourite food this whole wedding season. They know what they are doing, and you are in great hands. As a vegan, I was especially impressed with their vegetarian options along with gluten-free offerings for those who need it.

As a photographer, I would say the best part of Cellar 52 is its location. There are just so, so many beautiful places to take photos. Couples photos, wedding part photos, guest photos, there’s a beautiful place for all of it, limited only by your creativity.
